Top benefits of getting a website

When I wrote an article about businesses in Zimbabwe lacking a social media presence most ZSE listed companies did not even have a website. A few business have since then designed websites and now have a media presence.

If you are wondering whether your business needs a website or not read through some of these benefits of having a website:

Business Credibility

In today’s modern world, there is an expectation for any reputable company to have some kind of online presence. Potential investors and international customers and now even local customers often look up organisations they are not familiar with as guide to whether they should deal with you or not. An organised self-respecting company should have an online presence- at minimum this should be a website, not a facebook page- anyone can create a facebook page and claim to be who they are not. Your website will be a useful tools to share crucial information about your business with customers and potential investors and answer FAQs (frequently asked questions). What’s more, having a good quality, easy-to-use website makes customers feel comfortable using your services, as they will assume they can expect the same positive experience in all areas of your business.

Affordable Measurable Advertising

The use of Google AdWords and SEO give you the power to reach more customers with much more accuracy and reliability than with traditional offline advertising methods. SEO and online advertising are a great way to help build up awareness, if it’s done correctly traffic to your website can see an increase. Be the first company that a potential new customer sees when searching for a specific product or service online, and use your website’s contact page or e-commerce features to make purchasing a product or finding a retail outlet easier than ever before.

The Competition

If you don’t have a website it is highly likely that your competitor do. It is crucial for a business to avoid losing business to competitors.

Customer service

A well thought out and designed website can provide an easier way to handle customer service. This can be in the form of a collection of the most frequent queries from customers. With technology advances you can also have chatbot that can handle the customers questions. The result is reduced customer service costs and happy customers (because they received answers to their queries almost instantly.

Understand your market better

Analytic tools, like Google Analytics allow you to identify who your typical customers are, how they found you, their interests, thus equipping with vital information for sales, marketing and product/service development.  The diverse range of data available can also help you better understand how your social media channels affect your business.

E-commerce

For a range of business there’s a fresh opportunity for them to sell products or services online. The market has evolved and people are now quite used to pay for things both offline and online using plastic money. This presents an opportunity to create or expand business through a website.
